Romans 7:3 meaning and explanation
So then, if she is joined to another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law and is not an adulteress, even if she marries another man.
Romans 7:3, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Paul is speaking to believers in Rome who know the Jewish law, using a marriage example to make a point about the law's authority. A wife is bound to her husband for his lifetime, so remarrying while he lives makes her an adulteress.
