Hosea 9:2 meaning and explanation
The threshing floor and winepress will not feed them, and the new wine will fail them.
Hosea 9:2, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
In Hosea 9, God speaks through the prophet to the northern kingdom of Israel, which had pursued fertility gods at the threshing floors, treating the harvest as a reward from Baal rather than from the LORD. Verse 2 answers that misplaced trust: the very threshing floor and winepress where Israel celebrated will not feed them, and the new wine they counted on will fail.
