Jeremiah 44:13 meaning and explanation
I will punish those who live in the land of Egypt, just as I punished Jerusalem, by sword and famine and plague,
Jeremiah 44:13, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jeremiah is speaking to the Jews who fled to Egypt after Jerusalem fell, and in verse 13 God declares through him that the refugees will not escape the judgment that overtook their homeland. The three instruments named, sword, famine and plague, are the same covenant curses long threatened for disobedience (Leviticus 26; Deuteronomy 28) and the same trio that marked Jerusalem's fall.
