Day 192: Psalms 143 - 148

Bible in a year reading for day 192.

Psalms 143

  1. 3 For the enemy has pursued my soul, crushing my life to the ground, making me dwell in darkness like those long since dead.
  2. 4 My spirit grows faint within me; my heart is dismayed inside me.
  3. 5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I consider the work of Your hands.
  4. 6 I stretch out my hands to You; my soul thirsts for You like a parched land. Selah
  5. 7 Answer me quickly, O LORD; my spirit fails. Do not hide Your face from me, or I will be like those who descend to the Pit.
  6. 8 Let me hear Your loving devotion in the morning, for I have put my trust in You. Teach me the way I should walk, for to You I lift up my soul.
  7. 9 Deliver me from my enemies, O LORD; I flee to You for refuge.
  8. 10 Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God. May Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
  9. 11 For the sake of Your name, O LORD, revive me. In Your righteousness, bring my soul out of trouble.
  10. 12 And in Your loving devotion, cut off my enemies. Destroy all who afflict me, for I am Your servant.

Psalms 144

  1. 1 Of David. Blessed be the LORD, my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle.
  2. 2 He is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer. He is my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.
  3. 3 O LORD, what is man, that You regard him, the son of man that You think of him?
  4. 4 Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.
  5. 5 Part Your heavens, O LORD, and come down; touch the mountains, that they may smoke.
  6. 6 Flash forth Your lightning and scatter them; shoot Your arrows and rout them.
  7. 7 Reach down from on high; set me free and rescue me from the deep waters, from the grasp of foreigners,
  8. 8 whose mouths speak falsehood, whose right hands are deceitful.
  9. 9 I will sing to You a new song, O God; on a harp of ten strings I will make music to You—
  10. 10 to Him who gives victory to kings, who frees His servant David from the deadly sword.
  11. 11 Set me free and rescue me from the grasp of foreigners, whose mouths speak falsehood, whose right hands are deceitful.
  12. 12 Then our sons will be like plants nurtured in their youth, our daughters like corner pillars carved to adorn a palace.
  13. 13 Our storehouses will be full, supplying all manner of produce; our flocks will bring forth thousands, tens of thousands in our fields.
  14. 14 Our oxen will bear great loads. There will be no breach in the walls, no going into captivity, and no cry of lament in our streets.
  15. 15 Blessed are the people of whom this is so; blessed are the people whose God is the LORD.

Psalms 145

  1. 1 A Psalm of praise. Of David. I will exalt You, my God and King; I will bless Your name forever and ever.
  2. 2 Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever.
  3. 3 Great is the LORD and greatly to be praised; His greatness is unsearchable.
  4. 4 One generation will commend Your works to the next, and will proclaim Your mighty acts—
  5. 5 the glorious splendor of Your majesty. And I will meditate on Your wondrous works.
  6. 6 They will proclaim the power of Your awesome deeds, and I will declare Your greatness.
  7. 7 They will extol the fame of Your abundant goodness and sing joyfully of Your righteousness.
  8. 8 The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in loving devotion.
  9. 9 The LORD is good to all; His compassion rests on all He has made.
  10. 10 All You have made will give You thanks, O LORD, and Your saints will bless You.
  11. 11 They will tell of the glory of Your kingdom and speak of Your might,
  12. 12 to make known to men Your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of Your kingdom.
  13. 13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful in all His words and kind in all His actions.
  14. 14 The LORD upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.
  15. 15 The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food in season.
  16. 16 You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.
  17. 17 The LORD is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His deeds.
  18. 18 The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call out to Him in truth.
  19. 19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them.
  20. 20 The LORD preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy.
  21. 21 My mouth will declare the praise of the LORD; let every creature bless His holy name forever and ever.

Psalms 146

  1. 1 Hallelujah! Praise the LORD, O my soul.
  2. 2 I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
  3. 3 Put not your trust in princes, in mortal man, who cannot save.
  4. 4 When his spirit departs, he returns to the ground; on that very day his plans perish.
  5. 5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God,
  6. 6 the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He remains faithful forever.
  7. 7 He executes justice for the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets the prisoners free,
  8. 8 the LORD opens the eyes of the blind, the LORD lifts those who are weighed down, the LORD loves the righteous.
  9. 9 The LORD protects foreigners; He sustains the fatherless and the widow, but the ways of the wicked He frustrates.
  10. 10 The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. Hallelujah!

Psalms 147

  1. 1 Hallelujah! How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and lovely to praise Him!
  2. 2 The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the exiles of Israel.
  3. 3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
  4. 4 He determines the number of the stars; He calls them each by name.
  5. 5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit.
  6. 6 The LORD sustains the humble, but casts the wicked to the ground.
  7. 7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make music on the harp to our God,
  8. 8 who covers the sky with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow on the hills.
  9. 9 He provides food for the animals, and for the young ravens when they call.
  10. 10 He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legpower of the man.
  11. 11 The LORD is pleased with those who fear Him, who hope in His loving devotion.
  12. 12 Exalt the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion!
  13. 13 For He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses the children within you.
  14. 14 He makes peace at your borders; He fills you with the finest wheat.
  15. 15 He sends forth His command to the earth; His word runs swiftly.
  16. 16 He spreads the snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes;
  17. 17 He casts forth His hail like pebbles. Who can withstand His icy blast?
  18. 18 He sends forth His word and melts them; He unleashes His winds, and the waters flow.
  19. 19 He declares His word to Jacob, His statutes and judgments to Israel.
  20. 20 He has done this for no other nation; they do not know His judgments. Hallelujah!

Psalms 148

  8. 8 lightning and hail, snow and clouds, powerful wind fulfilling His word,
  9. 9 mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars,
